Drawing on a professional career, she helps her students, both children of all ages and adults, build strong vocal technique, performance confidence, and their own creative intuition. Her lessons are engaging and encouraging, with space for her students to explore favorite songs, performance, and songwriting while developing a voice that feels uniquely their own.

What do you teach?
Voice & Guitar: Basic Technique, Performance, and Songwriting
What makes you want to share your skills and knowledge?
One of my greatest loves in life is the simple act of creating something. Whether it be with my voice or my hands, creation feels like the most human thing to do. And I believe that if you want to take your creative endeavor to the next level, you have to develop the intuition for it. I'm inspired from my background in performance and professional singing-songwriting to help students develop their own intuition to create!
What is your experience in your craft and how are you evolving?
There has never been a time when I wasn't a creative person. I began performing at the age of two, doing both stage and TV. I eventually went on to author a few books, one of which landed me a deal with Simon and Schuster. Then, inevitably, my love for singing, writing, and performing melted together into songwriting. My artist project landed me shows at historic venues like the Troubadour, city-run festivals, and as of last year, a record deal with an indie boutique label attached to Atlantic Records. But the learning never stops, I certainly hope not; I'm always looking for ways to tell a story differently, to turn the cube and find that special angle. I write everyday, treating every idea like it's a gift for me to share.
What’s your style of teaching?
Learning something is one of my favorite activities, my first goal would be to help my students find why that is also true for them. No point of interest is too small! If something--a favorite song, artist, or even a fleeting interaction with a work of art--piques your interest, we are going to learn about it. The only thing you need to be in order to create any kind of art is be curious. What's scratching at you? Do you see a puzzle in there? Perhaps a new song to add to your grammy-award winning shower performances? You question it, we learn it.
As long as we keep that fire of curiosity alive, we are golden and ready to fly!
What keeps you creatively inspired?
Fantasy and Sci-Fi books/films/TV. Those guys know how to stretch the limits of imagination, no world is too complex to build, no dream too wild to have. I also like to cross-inspire, for example: if I'm stuck on a song, I like to think about 3 non-musical references that could inspire/inform this idea right now. It's a fun way to integrate all art forms I enjoy with whatever project I am currently working on.
