Watercolor & Mythology 2

Mythology & Watercolor Level 2 is for students who have taken Watercolor & Mythology at Los Feliz Music and Art Conservatory. This class will continue to build on techniques from the first class and introduce new ones to expand our breadth of insight on the material possibilities of watercolor. The class will incorporate both Western and Eastern papers to widen our net of exploration while using mythology as our primary subject.
The class aims at strengthening 4 new skills for each student:
1. Color temperature relationships
2. Detail work: texture and rendering in color and tone
3. Combining fluid and fine detail techniques
4. Knowing when to stop and when to continue
All materials are included.

Meet
Sebastian
Sebastian is a painter and installation artist whose work explores hybridity, identity, and storytelling through ink, color, and Chinese Xuan rice paper. With a background in Art History (BFA, Seattle University, 2019) and exhibitions across the West Coast—including Human Resources and Known Gallery in Los Angeles—Sebastian brings both depth and curiosity to their teaching. Their lessons balance exploration with skill-building: starting with student interests, developing technical foundations, and moving toward creative inquiry. Sebastian encourages students to trust their intuition and discover their unique artistic voice through process and play.
