I have personally experienced how these modalities can help step into our creator selves— our most pungent, prolific, most self-aware and conscious versions. I want to help be a rest stop while you guide yourself through your life and artist’s work.

I have photographed portrait sessions since I was in high school. “Glamour Shots by Mer” were always 50% off, though I never charged anyone. My business model is different now, but what has remained consistent has been setting my clients at ease. I capture their light— I know my tool (my cameras) like the back of my hand, so my gift in my work is to help my clients feel like the most open and honest version of themselves. Most my clients have either never had a photo shoot before, or don’t have any photos of themselves that they like. I made it my mission to change that, as I believe having stunning photos of oneself greatly impacts the subconscious perception of self, leading to a better quality of life.

I’ve been taking self portraits as a mode of self healing for a decade, ever since my dad passed away, and have found this process to be a highly intentional, creative outlet that I believe is worth doing for everyone! Combining the aspects of self-photography makes for each person to feel powerful, in control, and limitless with their ability to improve their perspective.

I traveled as a freelance model for over 10 years and have worked with hundreds of photographers and artists. I learned a lot about how not to treat subjects, models, etc, so I began to offer portrait sessions of my own, to add safe and empowering sessions to the industry, to help people practice setting boundaries and sticking to their truth.

I am very hands on. I’ll have us meet via online consult to get clear on what your needs are, and then we will meet in person to get you the information and train your skills until you feel confident.

Death and the magical nature of this reality. Knowing that we are each our own creators of our own realities makes me inspired to help others feel confident in creating their own. I have acquired many tools along the way, and wish to share these with you! My lessons are more than just photography-- a new perspective on life and being an artist.
